MORNING: Breakfast at Hotel and Departure from Yerevan
Upon your arrival in Yerevan, our local representative will be on hand to facilitate your transfer to your hotel. Yerevan is the capital of the Republic of Armenia and is recognized as the 12th capital of historical Armenia. It is one of the most ancient cities globally, featuring a variety of museums, monuments, and churches that highlight the city’s rich spiritual, cultural, and scientific legacy. Thanks to its abundant historical and cultural heritage, distinctive architecture, developing urban infrastructure, and the warm hospitality typical of Armenians, Yerevan is increasingly attracting tourists, thereby expanding its tourism market and enhancing its reputation as a top travel destination. After checking in at your hotel, you will have the rest of the day free for personal exploration.
After breakfast, we will initiate our day with a guided tour of Yerevan City, featuring key attractions such as Republic Square, Northern Avenue, the Opera House, the Cascade, and the Mother Armenia Monument. Republic Square is the main square in Yerevan, comprising two parts: an oval roundabout and a trapezoidal section that includes a pool with musical fountains. Northern Avenue, a pedestrian avenue that opened in 2007, is located in the central Kentron District and connects Abovyan Street to Freedom Square. The Opera House, formally known as the Armenian National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet and named after Alexander Spendiaryan, was officially opened on January 20, 1933. The Cascade is a large stairway made of limestone, which also features the Cafesjian Art Gallery.
After enjoying breakfast at the hotel, embark on a journey to the unique cave temple of St. Geghard, which dates from the 12th to 13th centuries. The term “Geghard” means “holy spear,” in reference to the spear that pierced Jesus Christ during his crucifixion, and this artifact is now displayed in the Museum of Etchmiadzin Cathedral. A short photo stop will be made at Charents Arc along the way. Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to visit Garni, the only remaining pagan temple in Armenia, dedicated to the sun god Mithras, which was built in 77 AD under the reign of King Trdat.
Breakfast at the Hotel. Drive to the magical town of Tsaghkadzor, which means “gorge of flowers” and is surrounded by forested mountains. Short excursion on foot through the small town. Opportunity: Take a ropeway up to the mountain peaks, where you’ll get a stunning panoramic view of this region (going up the first level and back). Tsakhkadzor is a well-known ski resort in the winter, with numerous levels of ropeways that ascend the mountains. It’s a nice place to spend the afternoon in the sun and in nature during the summer. Take the rope way up to Teghenis Mountain after visiting Kecharis Monastery. Drive to Sevan Lake and Visit Sevanavank Religious community. Spend the night in Yerevan.
