In the past, the square was known as Parapet, and it is still referred to by that name frequently today. The fountains square gets its name from the dozens of fountains that line the square, which were built when Azerbaijan was under Soviet rule. The square is a popular spot for people to gather, especially on weekends and after business hours.

Visit the Heydar Aliyev Center, a charming example of contemporary architecture in Baku, Azerbaijan. This 57,500-square-meter building complex was designed by Iraqi-British architect Zaha Hadid. Stay at night in Baku
