The square is a popular spot for people to gather, especially on weekends and after business hours.

Visit the Heydar Aliyev Center, a charming example of contemporary architecture in Baku, Azerbaijan. This 57,500-square-meter building complex was designed by Iraqi-British architect Zaha Hadid. It is known for its distinctive architecture and flowing, curved style that avoids sharp angles. The center is named after Heydar Aliyev, who served as president of the Azerbaijan Republic from October 1993 to October 2003 and was the first secretary of Soviet Azerbaijan from 1969 to 1982.
